Lucy McKenzie holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising and a minor in Business Administration from West Virginia University. During the Fall of 2003, she participated in a mock advertising campaign for a Pennsylvania speakeasy, where she contributed to a menu redesign and developed a sample website. The following Spring, she was part of West Virginia University’s team for the American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition, where she played a key role in designing the campaign’s plans book alongside her teammates.
In her senior year, McKenzie was an active member of the WVU Advertising Club and the American Advertising Federation. She also interned at Blues Alley Records, a Morgantown-based record label, where she was involved in marketing for the local band The New Relics and redesigned a website for emerging singer/songwriter Holly Spears. She continued to manage Spears' site until March 2009.
Since graduating, McKenzie has channeled her creative skills into multimedia projects, including converting VHS home videos to DVDs and producing slideshows for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and memorials. She’s also created personalized scrapbooks, videos, and photography collections for family milestones. Over the years, she has built and maintained websites for various personal and community initiatives, including a family reunion, a horse club, a horse farm, and a physical therapy practice.
Currently, McKenzie maintains the website for the Wilmington Police and Fire Federal Credit Union. In March 2024, she also took on the upkeep of the website for Soft Stands, a business owned by her former band director.
In May 2023, her husband launched a gaming stream brand, GamingwithMagus, for which McKenzie handles video editing and social media management. She is also the voice behind Gigglebox Blog, a lifestyle blog that shares her experiences as a stay-at-home mom, offering ideas for fun and budget-friendly family activities. In addition, she produces and edits content for her accompanying YouTube channel, Gigglebox Vlog.
In her free time, McKenzie enjoys making memories with her husband and two sons, spending time with friends, and continuing to explore creative projects.
